Nepal Climate
When embarking on motorcycle tours of Nepal, it’s important to note that the climate can be extreme, varying greatly with altitude and the seasons.
From mid-November to February, early mornings can be cold, and temperatures can drop below zero at night. In the southern regions of Nepal, at lower altitudes, May brings intense heat. June to August marks the wet season, with monsoons affecting the Indian peninsula and humidity levels rising significantly.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will be there to greet you immediately as you exit the terminal. From there, we’ll whisk you away to a luxurious hotel, ensuring you enjoy comfort and relaxation after your journey. Take some time to unwind before embarking on an exploration of Thamel, a vibrant district known for its colorful buildings and bustling markets. Indulge in a soothing massage, shop for unique local treasures, or savor authentic Nepali cuisine at one of the many charming eateries. As the evening unfolds, we’ll prepare for our upcoming adventure to Pokhara with a detailed briefing session.
Pokhara beckons with its tranquil ambiance, just a scenic six-hour ride away from Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we’ll settle into our hotel for a brief respite before venturing out to discover the city’s myriad attractions. Additional briefings await, along with introductions to our motorcycles and essential gear. If time permits, we’ll embark on a short ride to acquaint ourselves with the bikes and surroundings, ensuring a seamless start to our journey. Rest assured, any missed opportunities can be revisited during our return to Pokhara.
Today’s adventure takes us on a thrilling ride through the Himalayas, ascending to an altitude of approximately 3000 meters. Traverse Buddhist towns, ancient monasteries, and witness the breathtaking transformation of landscapes along the way. The route comprises 65 kilometers of well-paved roads to Beni, followed by a challenging 45-kilometer stretch of gravel tracks to Tatopani, putting our riding skills to the test.
Setting out from Tatopani after breakfast, we’ll follow the meandering path alongside the Kali Gandaki River, treating our senses to panoramic views of the Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri peaks. Our journey brings us to Muktinath, a sacred temple perched at an altitude of 3800 meters, where we’ll offer prayers before continuing to Kagbeni for our overnight stay. Immerse yourself in the unique culture and scenic vistas of this beautiful Tibetan village during the morning hours.
Today marks our transition into the coveted Upper Mustang region, albeit after completing necessary inner area permit procedures upon leaving Kagbeni Village. Following the course of the Kali Gandaki River, we’ll encounter remote settlements before reaching our destination for the day, Ghami, yet another captivating village in Mustang.
Our journey culminates in Lo Manthang, the last vestige of the Forbidden Kingdom of Tibetan culture. Traverse the Upper Mustang region, where ancient Tibetan walls, traditional dwellings, and prayer wheels dot the landscape. A brief interlude in the bustling village of Charang precedes our ascent to Lo-Manthang, our final destination.
Today offers a well-deserved respite from our rigorous adventures, allowing ample time to explore the cultural riches of Lo Manthang. Visit local monasteries to gain insight into Lo’s unique heritage and Buddhist traditions. The afternoon is yours to wander the labyrinthine streets, engage with locals, sample authentic teas, and peruse local handicrafts.
Embark on a thrilling ride to the highest point of our journey, the Tibetan border at Kora la, a remote high-altitude pass. Ascend to the Tibetan Plateau, where the rugged terrain offers a glimpse into the gateway to Tibet. Upon our return to Lo Manthang, we’ll retire for the night, reflecting on the day’s exhilarating experiences.
Bid farewell to Lo Manthang as we commence our return journey southwards to Pokhara. Descend from the plateau, marveling at the majestic peaks of Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Dhaulagiri. Our evening halt is Samar, a serene village adorned with ancient ruins and panoramic hilltop vistas.
Continuing our southward journey, we arrive at Marpha, renowned as the Apple capital of Nepal. Explore the whitewashed streets of this charming city and indulge in a sip of locally brewed apple brandy, the perfect conclusion to another unforgettable day on the road.
Our descent leads us to Tatopani, where the allure of the Rupche Fall beckons. Descending from lofty altitudes to the lush surroundings of Tatopani, we savor a rejuvenating soak in the natural hot springs, a well-deserved reward after our adventurous exploits.
Returning to Pokhara, we relish the memories of our rugged expedition through the wilderness. Enjoy a day of relaxation, perhaps indulging in a soothing massage or reminiscing over the day’s highlights captured in photographs and videos. As we bid farewell to our bikes, we reflect on the remarkable landscapes and cultural encounters that have enriched our journey.
Embark on our journey back to Kathmandu, taking in the scenic vistas along the way. Upon arrival, check into our hotel and enjoy a leisurely evening exploring the vibrant streets, shopping for souvenirs, and relishing the final moments of our Nepalese adventure.
After a hearty breakfast, we bid farewell as you’re escorted to the airport for your return flight. Though our time in Nepal may have come to an end, the memories of our exhilarating journey will endure, beckoning us to return to this captivating land once more.
